As a community, we hope you are here to stay. We are excited to share that US News & World Report has ranked Green Bay as the best place to live in the United States for 2023-2024 and believe you will find examples of this achievement throughout our great community. Although we were chartered in 1854, we received our name from in 1634 by French explorer Jean Nicolet named our area La Baye Verte (“The Green Bay”) due to our green colored waters. This once small town has grown to a population over 107,415. If you would like to learn more please feel free to explore resources like the Neville Public Museum and Heritage Hill State Park. Our City is full of activity with runs/walks, farmers markets and other events for people of all ages, from educational activities to festivals all geared toward building community. It goes without saying that for the sports enthusiast, a visit to the Green Bay Packer Hall of Fame may be in order. Green Bay also has the honor of hosting the 2025 NFL Draft, with an expectation of an additional 250,000 football fans joining us for the three-day event! We can’t leave out our Green Bay Gamblers Hockey, University of Wisconsin-Green Bay athletics, as well as a host of high school sports! Our Parks, Recreation & Forestry Department offers programs for kids and adults! For park and or animal fun please visit our Bay Beach Amusement Park, and Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary! Weekly Office Hour Community members may visit me at a designated time each week to discuss their ideas, convey their concerns or provide their unique perspectives on city life and services. I want city residents to know their presence and opinions are welcome at City Hall, and I look forward to every opportunity to listen to and learn from community members. Office hours take place in- person, there is also a call-in option for those who prefer it.
