The Gan- dy Dancer is a great trail for all levels of enthusiast, open to hikers and bikers year-round and snowmobile riders in the winter. With a limestone surface and level grade, the Gandy Dancer, aptly named after the railroad workers, is a great trail for those looking to get away and experience na- ture stretching from south of Siren through Danbury. As if the Gandy Dancer wasn’t impressive enough, Burnett County is home to over 300 miles of groomed snowmobile trails, over 60 miles of summer ATV/UTV trails and over 75 miles of cross country skiing, snow- shoeing and hiking trails. From Brandt Pines, Crex Meadows, Grantsburg and Sandrock Cliff Trails to the west, Forts Folle Avoine Trail to the north and Timberland Hills, Voyager Village and Webb Lake Trails in the east, those looking for a picturesque path can find it in Burnett County. New trails are being developed all the time. The Camper Cabin in the rolling Timberland Hills area includes a half mile hike, home to a seclud- ed cross-country ski area and is located next to the Ice Age Trail. Webb Lake is home to fat tire bike trails, Dogtown Cluster and Bear Lake Loops Trails that are perfect for biking, hiking and snowshoeing. The Keizer Trail continues to grow mile-by-mile for mountain bikes and includes logging roads, double and single track trails and more! It boasts two primitive campsites as well. With over 111,000 acres of Burnett County Forest Land, you can find numerous horseback and biking roads, trails and fire lanes throughout the County. Embrace your inner Jim Jordan as you trek down the Jordan Buck Heritage Hike, a self-guided walking tour of Jordan’s legendary hunt. Follow in his footsteps down 1.3 miles of the Gandy Dancer, starting at Blueberry Junction Park in Danbury. Wherever the trail leads you, be sure to stop and enjoy the beauty of the landscape and take a pause to let nature do its job.
