ARTS 23 BurnettCountyFun.com ARTS the creative T he arts, in all forms and mediums, are alive and well in Burnett County. A revival and renewal of the creative community is upon us. Be inspired at the newly expanded Northwest Passage Gallery just south of Webster. This innovative, multi-use community center and gallery, developed in partnership with Burnett Area Arts (BAA), showcases local artists’ work in several different mediums in their new permanent home. The building also features the nature photography of the youth of Northwest Passage, a residential mental health treatment center for children, in the In a New Light Gallery. BAA is an active component of the Burnett County arts scene and celebrated 20 years in 2024. In addition to sea- sonal outdoor shows, a BAA premier event is the Student Art Show scheduled for March. Five area high schools art programs participate, submitting student work for an ex- hibit open to the public, a source of pride for students, teachers and families. Around the county there are retail outlets as well as adult/children/community education offerings and oppor- tunities for creative self-expression. Many artists generate revenue for themselves as well as sponsoring organiza- tions with two major arts and crafts shows on Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends, plus other craft fairs during village festivals. Be sure to check out Music in the Park, both in Siren and Grantsburg. Enjoy live music overlooking the lake on warm summer evenings. The Village Players Community Theatre performs in late July/early August to sold out audiences. Come In & Get Creative!
